It was built in the UK, and parts of the car are British.

It's not an Invicta 4.5 - however it does have an Invicta radiator and transmission, and the Invicta name also features in the name given to the car by the builder.

1953 Bugatti-Invicta Speciale

He shoots, he scores. So easy for the quizmeister!

It was built by Commander Scroggs (of Trojan fame) from a Bugatti chassis (type unknown), the Invicta transmission and radiator, and a truck engine. I don't know the make of this motor, but it was 4540cc ohv 6-cylinder producing 110bhp, and the car was claimed to achieve 93mph. I'm sure it must have had a huge amount of low-down torque.
