For one point, please tell me the year, the car, and the coachbuilder. An easy one.

It's a Fiat Topolino bodied by Carrozzeria Riva in 1948.

Yes. Easy as that. My source said 1949, but I'm not going to be pedantic.

The source calls it a "garden van" which I suppose must be a literal translation from Italian - would that be Giardiniera? It's a really cute little car.

100% 1948 (therefore not a 500 C, but most likely a rebodied old 500 A). This is a 1948 advertising form L'Auto Italiana.
And I confirm that "garden car" is a translation form the original "Giardinetta".

By the way, this was pretty easy as I just finished to write a full book about Carrozzeria Riva.  ;)

Thanks for the correct information - I have just checked my source, which is a well-known site, and they say the van is from 1949, and that Riva began trading in 1949, but then they show a photo of another Riva-bodied car from 1948. It shows that you can't trust the internet, and that websites can be contradictory with their facts.

I will change the title of the puzzle - you know far more than me!

Riva started the business in 1859 and is one of the oldest Italian coachbuilders. I don't know what that website says, but definitely doesn't sound reliable on this topic.
