Are these some early Fuch wheels?  ;)

More seriously, is it a British car?

I'd like to say it's a modified 911, but I'm afraid it's not true. Yes, it's British.

I don't think so.

Just to add to that, I've looked up a photo which shows the inside of the wheel, and it is exactly the reverse of the outside! In other words, it's not a metal disc covering a wooden wheel inside. Presumably the makers realised that moulded spokes would strengthen the whole assembly. As a small clue, the car makers also owned their own forestry, so it's a bit odd that they didn't use wooden "artillery"-style wheels.

Which is exactly what I've got written down. Well done, and thank you for picking one of my puzzles for your 200th point! Welcome to the Pros - it's really hard work from now on.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity...........
Strange as life is, I did a Google search on the marque Standard for your puzzle #139 in the last hour and that photo popped up.
I had spent an hour or two on the Angus-Sanderson but had given up as I got nowhere.  I did learn a lot about the British Foresty Industry, particularly the re-forestation efforts after 1918 and 1945 but nothing about the carmaker.  As I enjoy reading all sorts of industrial history it was a good addition to my knowledge bank.

So, a goal reached and as I start my 74th year on Tuesday it is good to have some new goals and to be able to reach them.
I had multiple careers in my life and worked full time in my last endeavour, my own business, until 2011 and I needed something to challenge me as I was not dealing well with full retirement.

Now, I will switch gears on this Forum and try to contribute in the Feature Article and Photos sections dealing with my current favourite area, American vehicles sold, assembled or manufactured outside the US.

As a side note, I am wondering what to do now but Sigh over the 4 positive and 4 possible identifications that are in the queue  that will now have to reach Professional status before I can try to answer them. :lmao: :lmao:

In the meantime, thanks again for providing me the chance to reach Professional status with one of your puzzles and here is a period advert for a similar car from Angus-Sanderson.

Cheers

Bill
