This is a special GP car built by Luigi Premoli with a Bugatti chassis and a Maserati 8C 2.5 engine.
In the picture it's at 1932 Targa Florio

You got there in the end. Well researched! It is indeed the MB Speziale of Clemente Biondetti pictured in the pits at the 1932 Targa Florio. It was built on exactly the same lines as the Luigi Premoli PBM Special, with an 8-cylinder Maserati engine and grille attached to a Bugatti chassis (possibly a T35). There seems to be some confusion on the internet as to whether they were in fact the same car, but not according to some experienced historians. Here is another photo of the car during the race.
