I've found it called "Colucci prototype" and a source says it was nicknamed "ugly duckling".

Perfect, this is the car created by Alfa Romeo's designer Ivo Colucci (even if some sources credits it for a Boano design); this car was to become the base for Bertone styling. And you're right, the car is from 1953. This very first Giulietta Prototype, was built by Ghia.
