Yes, it is a modified Simca 5. I don't know who modified the entire car, but I know that the bonnet was an aftermarket item. To gain the point, you have to identify the company who built the bonnet.

Have a second look! You are so close that it can't be just by chance. It is La Déc----able.

La Découvrable was repeated several times on the French language site where I found the word.  I copied and pasted the name from the French language site as the easiest way to get the accent on the "é".  Should it be La Découverable?

No, it is not a matter of misspelling. I am looking for a different word describing something similar to Découvrable.

is like
cabrio coach <-> convertible

It's over 50 years since I did French at school and the vocabulary is what you forget.  Is the word something like  Découpable?

Forget that.  Someone has given me a link to another French language site that says that the bonnet was made by La Décapotable
(but I still don't know what the different French words mean)

What do "La Découvrable" and "La Décapotable" translate as?  I believe it's some variant of convertible, drophead, soft top or cabriolet but is there a subtle difference?
