Custom car built on a 1941 (some sources say 1942) Cadillac chassis by a Mr. Rudy Makela. Featuring a mostly aluminum body and a sliding front end section functioning as a hood, it appears to have been restyled at least once during its life. I found pictures of it in two different versions in some early 1950s custom car magazines.

This is (believe it or not) a 1952 Cadillac, custom-bodied by the Indianapolis Power Hammer Works. I believe the car still exists and is undergoing restoration. No accounting for taste, I guess.

This is correct. Apparently it's actually a 1948 model Caddy, and the front end was altered in 1952 to look like this! The customiser was Rudy Makela who has featured on AP before.

My interest was piqued by this car being "discovered" on the TV show "American Pickers". The owner was fully aware of what he had, but seemed to lack funds. Here's an image of the car as it was originally designed - I'm not sure which is worst.

IMHO the puzzles should be kept separate because of the different appearance, but each one should be amended with a link to the other one.
