What's this, from when and who was responsible for its design details, for 1 point?:

MG MGC based Austin-Healey 3000 MK 4 prototype circa 1966. The Healeys viewed the car and would not sanction production.

Yes, that's right, he was responsible for that grille design.
The prototype's code was ADO51, which I was hoping to be given though I didn't actually ask for it as I didn't want to immediately give the game away that it was an official BL prototype (or whatever they were called at the time..)
So you've earned your point!

ADO51, "Healey" MGC?

Sort of but not quite the name I'm looking for.
Not an MG so stick with the Healey bit..!

All of the info I can find points to this as a rebadged MGC concept, ADO51, (ADO52 was MGC) the original proposal had been a widen/lengthened Mk3 chassis with RR six cylinder 4 litre engine to be badged Healey 4000. imagine this proposal was considered a cheaper option

You are right in what you say but this one also appears to have been destined to be the Austin-Healey 4000 according to one generally very reliable website.

It's actually a repost so I'll have to merge it and change the title a little.

Well done.
