No points for identifying the base of course, but 1 nice easy Rookie point if you can name its power source and if you can tell me who converted it there's another point for that (as I don't know!)

ANYONE FOUND GIVING ANSWERS OBTAINED BY USING GOOGLE SEARCH BY IMAGE MAY BE BANNED FOR AN INDETERMINATE PERIOD, AND THIS PUZZLE IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE WHO HAVE EXPRESSED THEIR AGREEMENT TO THAT IN THE THREAD IN THE NEWS AND INFORMATION SECTION.

Quite so.
These are awfully easy points for you..
It's a pity the Rookies aren't interested...

I believe the hardtop was adapted from a Triumph GT6 unit.

I agree about the Rookies - they all join...... and then disappear. There are plenty of puzzles that can be solved with a bit of patience and some internet investigation.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

One problem is that so many cars have now been asked that only the really obscure ones are left..  Perhaps it is now time to allow re-posts of cars but not of the same picture.  The original poster and solver are probably Pros or Experts by now and most of us will have forgotten the answer by now and have to go searching anyway.

Another problem is that most puzzle posters have learned so much on here that the puzzles they post are simply too hard for the rookies and they get put off.
As a typical example of what I mean, one of the current set of Rookie puzzles asks for:
Quote
For one point, please tell me the make of car, the names of the two men on the right of the photo, and the date and place. That's all!
Fair enough at Expert or Pro level, but at Rookie level the question could be simply "Name the car?" and "Name the two men" and "Time and place" either for bonus points or added at the Expert or Pro stages.

And avoid the horribly patronising "The base car is easy" or "The base car is obvious" which will put immediately put off anyone who doesn't know it.  It's better to say something like "No points for the base car but for the point give ~ "

Fair points, and re-posts are now OK at Rookies and in some cases Expert levels, as long as they are of quite old puzzles.  Many active puzzlers were not here when they were first solved, so as far as they are concerned they are 'new'.  Personally I like to ask questions which were not mentioned first time around when I'm reposting.  Sometimes I do also add extra questions when moving them up, especially up to Pro level.

Another pic.  The fastback roof was lifted entirely from a Triumph GT^!
