What's this and from when does it date - for 1 point?:

That's a good question.  I hoped you would tell me as try as I might I haven't been able to ascertain exactly what the model is!
It seems to be captioned just as a Veritas Coupé and I've tried to ascertain if it's a Comet, a Saturn or a C-90 but without any definitive proof one way or another.
I'll keep looking into it to see if I can decide before giving you your point!

The puzzle's photo is indeed only captioned as a Coupé online, and there's no trace of it in my reference books.

The Saturn is somewhat bigger so I guess it isn't one. I don't really know how to tell apart a C90 from a Comet. To add some confusion some cars are even described as "Comet C90".

I'm reliably informed by a fellow AutoPuzzler that this is, as I originally thought but couldn't find any proof of, a Comet Coupé, so we'll declare it solved and move it.
Well done.

One of the reasons I doubted the identity though is that I had the following picture which was captioned as a Comet Coupé, and it is quite different in detail, e.g. the side windows and the slope of the rear.

I guess no two of the early Comet coupes were alike. The puzzle coupe is the fourth Comet built.

According to the well known coach builder's site it's a 1949 Veritas Comet Coupé with body by Autenrieth.
The puzzle car has the round Autenrieth badge.
