I see that you've painted out something which might give a clue. It looks very green - Watkins Glen ?

Actually the only thing I painted out of this picture was the chequered flag being taken!
Not Watkins Glen.

The car has a longish wheelbase, which makes me think it's a production car with a GRP body. Not that has any significance, since you're not asking for that.

Let's narrow it down.  Canada?

No, I know. I just looked up images for US racing in the 1960s, and lo and behold there it was - it was August 7 1960, and it was a race held by the Oakland County Road racing Club.

(Further investigation - track opened in 1958, situated in Clarkston, Michigan. Now called Waterford Hills. One viewer of that webpage thought the car was the Sorrell-Manning Special, but I don't think it is, nor is it a Sorrell SR100 body. One to ponder over.)

A view of the track today - looks interesting, a bit like Cadwell Park.
