Any connection to the Skoda-/Austro-Daimler tractor conceived by Ferdinand Porsche?

It is not petrol electric. It is not related to the Austro-Daimler/Skoda tractor

I believe this may be a "Train Tiaskal" made by the Hungarian Maschinen und Waggon fabrik in Raab.

If so, the name would be Hauptmann d. G. Ludwig Tiaskal Edler v. Hochwall.

I gather it was used or at least tried out by the Austrian Army ca. 1905.  My source is in German and I am not that good in that language.

OK, I found the rest of the answer on an excellent Hungarian site.

Further information, the drawings/design may have been done by Paul Daimler.  The chassis foundation may have originally come from the marque Spitz.

Bill, your first answer was correct, the 2nd was not :).

This is a 4wd, 4-wheel steering military tractor designed by Tlaskal and built by the Hungarian Waggon and Machine Factory in Győr. Later this company built the Rába trucks and passenger cars.
This very, very rare photo shows the tractor as tested by the Austrian military.

There was a very nice around 30 page long booklet published in German describing the details of this tractor.

Please find enclosed the original pic and a nice drawing from a 1916 picture album depicting the products of the company

Nice, thank you.

I've seen those in AAZ. I also have a booklet describing the project :)
