So, what is it, by whom, from when - for 1 point?:

Correct, yes.
It had actually already been seen 9 years earlier as the Amitron, but it can't have had much effect because they went right back to square one and released it again in 1977 as the Electron..  Apparently it had no internals in either guise so it seems it was just a fanciful idea.  Or perhaps someone stumbled across it gathering dust in a warehouse and thought it too good to waste..!
