the information I have,it was Stanley Griffin who was behind it.It was powered by a gladden 1-cyl engine,it had an automatic transmission.and the weight was only 550lbs.

Yes, I believe you're right.
But what was the company who were going to make/market it?

Imps have been puzzled before of course (as you have found out!) but I thought this one was different enough to be its own puzzle..
