Yes, you're right it's a Ford, but not by Ford themselves.
Late 50's is correct too.

Found out its a 1957 design concept for a glass fibre body (kit car) for a 1955 Ford Anglia 100E sidevalve chassis, by ex Ford of Dagenham, England designer David Thorpe.

It looks like he was heavily influenced by the 1955 Ford Thunderbird and the Chrysler Ghia dream cars of the 50's.

Was interested to read he was responsible for the design of the front of the Ford Consul Classic which means he must have worked along side the legendary Ron Hickman back then.

Good Puzzle that. :)

Yes, you're right.
You did well to find that one as it only seems to figure on 2 websites, neither of which are anything to do with cars - 1 British one and 1 Spanish one.

Thanks Wendax. Now that you mention it, I actually knew that but had forgotten - only because I'd asked my computer for an auto-translation of the source and it told me it had detected Catalan and was translating it into English!  Without that I would never ever have known it..
