It's not Suzuki-based, though I suppose it is possible some Suzuki parts, like lights, were used.

That's it, yes!
The Premier 118NE was a Fiat 124 clone made in India in the late 1980s.
The builder of this car thinks it's beautiful; here's a rear view - AutoPuzzlers can decide for themselves if he's right!:

Clear confirmation of the old adage "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" - or in the case of cars should that be "... in the  eye of the constructor"?   ;)

I've never really agreed with that adage - I think beauty is definable, although some people can see it and some struggle to..
Whatever anyone thinks, this car is definable as Awful and could only be beautiful to someone who is blind!

That's interesting.
I think there are two ways of being beautiful:
the 1st is generally accepted and is a reaction given by well proportioned parts, smooth lines and not redundant accessoires (try to apply this definition to cars, women, houses, etc...). Pininfarina is a master in that, just take a look at his masterpieces or at his 'Sergio' of 2013...on the other hand this kind of beauty may be 'boring' and is not able to touch other chords like the 2nd way of being beautiful: now, someone may like some of the latest concepts by Lamborghini, but they are not nice, they express brutal force, extreme performances but are not 'elegant'. Again try to apply this definition to a lady and you'll se why someone may find Pamela Anderson better than Charlize Theron (or viceversa).

Said that, this ...thing is not beautiful in the 1st way..God only knows what its builder sees in that but it seems he loves it!

Yes, I fully agree.
I didn't really mean that to be beautiful it had to have, say perfect lines that conform to a particular ideal, more something that all meshes and looks right. I believe a beautifully-engineered functional object may also be described as 'beautiful' just as something very minimal or very ornate can also be. I think, for instance, all animals are beautiful whether or not they conform to the human ideal of what looks 'nice'.  But if it's wrong, then it's plain wrong and doesn't fit the 'beautiful' description!
