Who can identify what this is based on and where it was built, for 1 point?

Google Search by Image continues to raise its ugly head on AutoPuzzles.
For the sake of our newer members who may not be aware of past discussions on it, Google Search by Image as a means of solving puzzles is banned on this website.

AutoPuzzles is primarily a game of automotive knowledge, not of who can copy and paste the quickest.

We ask all members to remember and respect this, and retain the right to ask puzzle-solvers how they came to their answer.

Have fun!

It is a British base but not UK-built and doesn't have a Jaguar engine..

TR6 chassis, engine and gearbox and rear axle.

Designed and built by Jimmy Kilroy over four years, started in 1990

Hand formed ally body

Standard engine with triple carbs and performance Camshaft

Crikey that's more information than I have, but it's a different base from the one stated on my source.
I'll have to do some digging and checking!
(You haven't mentioned where Jimmy Kilroy is based - don't forget that's part of the question!)
Meantime it's locked for you roger!

OK, I'm convinced.
I didn't make the Jimmy Kilroy connection with Moal's in California who did the bodywork (they're the people who built the Gatto, one of my puzzles a few months ago).
I had it as a Triumph Spitfire Special but TR6 is much more believable, so that's what I think it must be.
Well done!

For the ones that liked this car, you can see it in the episode "Moal" from the TV series "Rides"

Homebuilt yes. The base is European, but it was built on another continent.

(Sorry, that's very badly worded. It's a one-off (eigenbau), but it was built at a very reputable establishment.)

Seriously!? This must be an AP "first" - a puzzle car which is stolen during the term of its placement in the Puzzle Section.

I'm going to give you the point for that. It is indeed based on a Triumph TR6 and was built in 1990 by Jimmy Kilroy at Moals in Oakland. I'm not sure whether this was a personal project or an "official" Moals job. When the name Moals is mentioned, now you can see why I was wrong to call it homebuilt!

I do only know that this special is also Triumph based - is this related to the puzzle car?

Looks different to me. It is also following the classic lines more closely than the puzzle car.
