A steam car Serpollet (Léon Serpollet at the wheel). It had the speed record flying start with 120 km/ in 1902.

Indeed, the Oeuf de Paques was a Serpollet but had slightly different, more rounded bodywork, as below.

It was definitly proposed to race.
But I only know one magazine page which features the car and its mechanics.
So I have no information about a race.
