With so many it is not I realised it was an FN, thay plus the little bit of the emblem still visible gave it away.
So it is a Belgian car: FN Super Sport 1929

This is just so-o-o-o-o similar to a SS90 that it must have been inspiration for William Lyons, whether consciously so or not.

I find it rather hard to believe that body is from 1929, looks too modern, it even has 16" wheels, I wonder if this is not a re-bodied car?

And maybe the SS90 was the source of inspiration, with a touch of Talbot 105(headlamp brackets)?
Below is a picture of a 1930 FN.

I agree with you - that's a 1929 FN rebodied in the late 30s I reckon. Whoever commissioned the body wanted to copy the SS100 or similar Lagonda/Alvis styles.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

There isn't any info on the web stating that the car has been rebodied after 1929, all links to this car refer to 1929. But it does indeed look quite modern for the late twenties.

Clearly this car has been very recently restored, looking at the finish and the upholstery.
I wonder how much is left of the original?

It reminds me of the guy very proudly stating he's been using the same sweeping brush for 35 years; all he's done to it in all that time is had 14 new handles and 10 new brush-heads fitted...!
