I must have misinterpreted your previous answer of: "Almost"  I have established an area 50 km wide completely across southern France.  First along the sea coast, to which the answer was "No", and then along the Spanish border (approximately south of A641 and A61, except in the area of Toulouse) to which the answer was "Almost".  I interpreted this to mean that the manufacturer was in an area slightly beyond the 50 km specified, say within another 25 km.  The only significant population fitting this definition would be the area south of Toulouse which was covered by the third question, to which the answer was "No".  So either I misinterpreted the answer "Almost", or the manufacturer is located in a small town in a narrow (25 km) strip of France located 50/75 km north of the Spanish border, and running from the Bay of Biscay to 50 km west of the Mediterranean seacoast.  Is this conclusion correct, or have I misinterpreted your answer?

Your conclusion is correct, and the town we are looking for is quite known.

The only town that appears to fit "Not quite" seems to be Auch.  I had thought that Auch was covered by the Toulouse exclusion radius, but perhaps "Not quite".

Bigger than Auch, but about as far away from Mont-de-Marsan.

I'm completely at a loss.  We have now eliminated every town larger than Auch in a strip more than 50 km, but less than 75 km, north of the Spanish border.  I see two towns bigger than Auch, but at about the same distance from Mont-de-Marsan.  These are: Bayonne, over near the Bay of Biscay, and Tarbes southeast of Mont-de-Marsan.  However, both of these are well within 50 km of the Spanish border (as is Pal's query of Pau) located along E80/A64.  What have I misunderstood?

The company was located in Pau.
According to Google Maps, Pau is about 68 km away from the Spanish border, if you take the road straight south.
