I was looking on the web for a Wendax puzzle and suddenly came across this car.... it's a 1942 Alfa Romeo Freccia d'Ora chassis and someone mounted the body on it (not the best work though...). It's for sale in La Plata, Argentina. The ad also claims it has a mileage of over 11 million miles....

Chassis 915144 is not listed in the Anselmi 6C 2500 book, but for sure it's not a Freccia d'Oro but a rare Touring berlinetta... what a shame...  >:(

That rear window and roofline looks like it's taken straight off a Touring berlinetta body. So someone has hacked it about - that's a criminal offence.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

By then it was just an old car with an outdated styling, I presume - such things happened every time.
It looks like one of those 'cupecita' racers built for long distance runs in South America in the middle of the 20th century. Or maybe just a road car made to resemble those cars, very popular back then. Any info?

This cars were ( and the other 2 flecha dŽoro) import at Argentina by Piero Dusio the father of Cisitalia and also father or Autoar. That car had a terrible accident at 12 horas sport in El Pinar, Uruguay.
The engine was used to build a formula car, also know as mecanica argentina or mecanica nacional car, and miss in the time.
The rest of the body, suspentions and gear box was sold.
With it they built this prototype that race at fomula bonaerence with a jeep engine first, then with a kaiser bergantin engine (argentinian alfa 1900) and last with a ford falcon 6 cyl. engine.
The cars was on farm for more that 25 years, until the owner died and the family decided to sell it.

Thank you! Are there any pictures of the car while being used in competition?
