. . . And actually a pretty nice-looking car, especially for 1947. The clues along the way were mostly "process of elimination" . . . It was established by others that it was a 1947 French car, and all of the most obvious marques were offered and rejected. That led me to establish a quick list of the French auto manufacturers producing cars in 1947 (the internet is our friend), which ran to about 25 cars. Many of them were producers of small postwar mini-cars, so my search centered on the five or six manufacturers who might have produced a car of this size: Chenard-Walcker, Georges Irat, Mathis, Rosengart, Simca . . . And Delaunay-Belleville. I wasn't familiar with the RI-6 (no wonder, wth only 14 produced) but this apparent one-off by Antelm is a pretty handsome car. A good and challenging puzzle.
