I had found it as Mendip two seater from
1915

And you get a point for that answer. The reason I used the words "what could this car be?" in my puzzle was because the site where I found the photo did not definitely know what it was. However a comparison with the photo in Georgano shows that it almost certainly is a Mendip.

It was produced from 1913 to 1921, using a variety of proprietary engines.
