Found a photo of the rear of this particular Sammio kit car that appears to have been badged "Marlet"
Further researching came up with 1962 Triumph Marlet Special
That's right, yes.
For reasons best known to its builder this car is known as the Marlet Special.
From the spiel on the site where it was For Sale one could be led to believe it is a restored sixties special, but there's no foolin' AutoPuzzlers! We know it's nothing more than a Sammio with a fancy name, only built quite recently! (See below)

A stunning Triumph race/sports car, the "Marlet Special". Correctly registered as a Marlet Special on V5. The car is painted period colours - Jaguar Dove Grey.
The car has undergone a comprehensive restoration including the chassis stripped and painted. New flexi brake lines (fronts are braided), new rear cylinders, new front calliper seals. lowered suspension. The body (fibreglass) is mounted to an internal framework that then blots to the chassis. The chassis, running gear, suspension set up is from a Triumph Herald.
As you can see the car looks stunning, sat on 14inch MGB wire wheels, period Lucas lights L488 through out, period bucket seats, sports steering wheel, Brooklands aeroscreens.
The car has had a central bar fitted (like the D type jag) creating a true race feeling when driving. This car gets masses of attention at shows and admiring looks where ever it goes.
Please note that the rear bumpers are no longer fitted.
