That's the Farrellac Allard, probably with Tony Bianchi driving it, but it realy could be anybody in that helmet!

It is an Allard special, called the Farrallac that was designed with Sydney Allard’s blessing by Allard Chief Engineer David Hooper for customer Don Farrall, using the chassis and parts of the ex-Peter Collins J2 1953-58

Yes, another easy one for serra...

This is the Farrallac Mk2 - the original car was destroyed in a major accident. The front end is fashioned from a Maserati nose, and the rear from an Allard J2. Power is from a 6-litre Cadillac engine, hence the name of the car. And here's a photo of the young Peter Collins and his original car. (To be pedantic, the original car was destroyed in 1959, and this puzzle car first competed in 1960.)

Thanks.  I did think it very odd that it had never been posted.
It's down to the different spelling I had, which is probably wrong in view of the Owner's name.
I'll check into it!

Well, most sites (including the Allard Register and the Allard Owners' Club) spell it "Farrallac" even though its owner was Don Farrell, although plenty of sites also call it 'Farrellac'.  I wonder which is right?

Incidentally nicanary, your photo would seem to be the car as originally delivered in 1953, before it was rebuilt into the Farrallac/Farrellac Mk 1.
It did later become the Ford-engined Farrallac/Farrellac Mk2 but so far I haven't found a picture of it.

I believe the correct spelling is "Farrallac" for FARRell, ALLard and CadillAC.

When I solved it (five years ago tomorrow) I spelled it Farrellac as that's what Tony Bianchi wrote on his entry form - mind you he did write Allard Farrellac and I said it was the Farrellac  Allard

Sorry, I didn't phrase my post very well. I was simply trying to show the car which started it all. The Farra/ellac Mk1 was built from the chassis of the Collins J2, and after the Mk1 was destroyed the puzzle car, the Mk2, was built from a new frame, with only parts of the old car remaining.  I can't find a photo of the Mk1 anywhere, so that has messed up my planned post!
