Edit: The wheels match and so do the hood side louvers so it is at least an "educated guess"..............

It is not a Mag, but Bill is right, this is an ambulance, made by the "Weiss Manfred" factory (English order: Manfréd Weiss). This is the sole surviving WM car, part of the Hungarian Museum of Transport and Technology's vehicle collection. It is in storage. Its last public outing was in 1961!!!

There is a book, titled Magyar Autó. It is in Hungarian. 2nd edition was edited and upgraded by yours truly. There is some info in there. And you can find an entry in my site as well.

To sum it up: the giant Weiss Manfred conglomerate in Csepel on the outskirts of Budapest which had its iron foundry played a great role in restarting motoring in Hungary after the 1st WW. Together with a bank and another organisation they bought 300 military trucks and motorcycles from the Entente. These were repaired. The leadership of WM saw the opportunity and in about 1924 they bought an Italian FIAM small car (http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=18638.0) and made a prototype based on that. The experiment was not succesful. The two-stroke engine was kept, but a new car was built around it, which was ready by 1926. In 1927 new rules meant that Hungarian taxicab owners had to buy locally made vehicles. This meant good business for MÁG and WM but their cars were very expensive compared to foreign rivals. MÁG threw in the towel in 1929-1930, while WM made its last car in about 1931. Less than 200 WM cars and trucks were made. WM later made mopeds and military vehicles, which were far more succesful.

I was aware of the military vehicle production due to my research interest in wheeled military vehicles 1935-1945 but not really aware of the civilian vehicles until researching your puzzle.
