Have I been making this too hard? Could this be a very early (perhaps even a prototype) Opel 4/12 PS, popularly called Laubfrosch?

Aargh! I had considered Leila, but couldn't find any references to a vehicle other than this one:
http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=22224
Now I had a look into another book where the Leila was mentioned, too. And there it was: ... a car based on the Leila truck chassis was planned, but never built. Alas, a small front-engined car was built as a combination of a hotel bus and a luggage carrier.
Great puzzle!

Hey guys. You´re the best!
One point for PJ!
There must have been at least this one passenger car.
It looks like a real photo.
