According to a website which deals with NZ corporate information, there was a company called Drive New Zealand Classic Limited. This became U Drive Mobility.
On their website there was a section devoted to the Stealth Project.
I think this is the vehicle.
Absolutely!
This is Stealth Forza Project developed by Drive NZ Classic LTD!
Components:
With an OEM, hydroformed bonded alloy 2 seat tub/roll cage supporting a Chevrolet LS3 V8 485bhp engine and 5 speed LSD transaxle in a North/South configuration, the car incorporates the rear suspension and inboard ABS disc brakes with the powertrain as an integrated support structure. Suspension is unequal length wishbones with adjustable shocks, ride height and sway bars.
Design:
The Stealth prototype race/road car uses current formula racing principles to achieve light weight with a torsionally stiff structure. Side mount radiators/trans and engine oil coolers allow the use of modern aerodynamics with underbody venturi and rear diffuser for brake/mechanical cooling with progressive downforce. Bolt on GRP composite body panels are used for easy replacement and access.
Features:
The car is built without doors for additional strength, however low entry sill height to the two race harness seats allow easy access, with a sliding bubble tinted all weather canopy that can be locked in the open or closed position for roadster or GT race classes. Linear actuated seats raise 300mm and tilt for ease of entry & exit, making this operation easier than conventional door entry!
CCTV cameras provide a side and rear vision heads up display for 360 degree vision. In/cabin lock storage for 2 crash helmets incorporating MP3 and intercom links for music and crew communication is provided.
Rear trunk storage filled with 2 airport trundler bags are also supplied to keep this road race car completely self contained for race weekends away.
Dimensions:
225x16 R compound tyres on liteweight 16 x 8 composite rims front, 265 x 17 R tyres on liteweight 10 x 17 composite rear rims provide sticksion for an est power to weight ratio of 540bhp/tonne. A front rear weight ratio of 40:60 is estimated due in large part to the North/South powertrain configeration for an overall length of 4.2m, 2m width, 1m height. Est dry weight 870Kg. Built with reputable proven generic component parts for long term ease of servicing and component replacement.
