Just a quick post from me about my pedantry - I said earlier in the puzzle that the car was not from the UK, but from Ireland. I have just reread my notes and, much to my embarassment, the car was "technically" from the UK. I stress the embarassment, because I live in Northern Ireland.
This website should stay away from politics, but I can tell you that the name of the builder and the city where it was built, suggest to me that the builder probably considered himself Irish rather than British. However, from a pedantic point of view, the country of origin is in the UK.
That's a big clue. The builder came from a place famous for "strokes" *.
*(It's quite possible that only myself and one of the site's editors will understand that little joke)
