Solved - MJW #1189 - David Kennedy and his FF Crossle 1976
« on: March 10, 2014, 07:26:57 AM »
I decided to replace my #1189 with a new puzzle as it was a repost (it was a Fiat 501 Tourer with a Frech-Hoch body)

Here's another easy one.....

Name the person in the photo and the marque of the single-seater for a point.

Yes, that's it! - another point for you.

Sorry Shamrock but you were just pipped at the post.

It's my intention to post many more motor-racing puzzles in the near future...... ;)

Not too many from the '70s onwards, please! I lost interest when Chunky painted them like fag packets.

(What was the old transporter for the Crossle (which incidentally was built about 4 miles from my home) - an old Civil Defence bus or ex-RAF or something similar?)
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Brian tells me he bought the bus from Ardmore Film Studios , and that he was an Ex RAF bus , John Hynes of Group Waterworks , Kennedys sponsor bought the bus , and another sponsor The Brunkard Group  converted the rear of the bus to carry the racing car
