Arunas' #564 SOLVED: MAKO / NAIKO in KEP advertisement (1977)
« on: October 23, 2013, 04:51:29 PM »
Open for all you!

Here's a mystery car which appeared in an advertisement of one company.

I have a name of that company (full one and/or abbreviated) and the name(?) of this vehicle is written on the number plate.

For 2 points: What is is car?

P.S. In case you know what it is, please let other puzzlers to have their chance to earn some hard points.

It is a one-off car. There is no connection with Condor (Condor Coach Works, Ohio?).

Was the car a demonstrator for a company that was not a car manufacturer?

Could it be a wheel manufacturer, or does it has absolutely no connection with cars?

No.

Nope :)

The advertisement clearly states that this home-made car is power by a not so common engine thanks to their product.

When I tried to google for this product, this company (which is well active today!) appears among top 3 results!

No, it is powered a normal ordinary engine.

By "not so common" I mean that it is not that widely used/ popular like VW engine, let's say.

Previously you said: "The advertisement clearly states that this home-made car is power by a not so common engine thanks to their product."  Is this perhaps an indication that this car is some sort of hybrid powered by a "not so common engine" via this product?  For example: the engine drives a hydraulic pump which in turn drives a hydraulic motor(s), or: the engine drives a generator which in turn drives an electric motor(s).  In these examples the sponsoring company would produce hydraulic pumps/motors or generators/motors respectively.

No, but it is indeed Ford engined!

Not that complicated. It is not hybrid, it uses Ford engine.
I am not sure if this is a demonstrator vehicle built by the company or individual. I tend to choose the second option.

Not getting into much tech details, the main product of this company is used for engine swap, as far as I understand. This is why I told that the car uses other engine, instead of a common VW.

Ford Pinto engine.

Once the name of the company is found, I'll give further hints regarding model name (for a second point.)

No.

My suggestion is to determine what is the main product of this company and then it will be much easy. As I told before - when I google the exact product name of this company it appears is among top 3 results..
