Who knows this car?

One point for the car.

One additional point for the driver, as he is a quite interesting person.

Non existant today, but still quite well known, I am sure.

Nothing exotic in any case.

Bill Murray hit it!

Adler is correct.
To be honest, I have never heard about about a 28/95PS Adler before.
(There was a 28/95PS Mercedes.)

I have not information about the chassis, but I think I am sure I know which chassis it really was.

Or prove me the opposite, of course :)

Not much information out there on pre-1930 Adlers, unless you like typewriters.  Even my standard reference books were of no help.

You are correct about the 28/95 model designation, I misread a translation that discussed a particular car up for identification.  That is a Mercedes designation.

So, the best I can do for now is to suggest it is a 9/24 model, coach builder and driver unknown to me.

Edit:  If that is not the first part of the answer, please unlock it.

O.K.

I give you two more tries to find out the correct model.

It definitly is not a 28/95PS, and also not a 9/24pS.

Try something in between... ;)

Donīt worry about the driver.

He will be another topic and an additional point

OK X 2.

I have 2 1/2 choices left, one of which seems to be the same model with a slight difference in engines.

Best bet out of those is an 18/60 as it is larger.

Well done.

I found another photo of this type of car, and now I am sure it is an 18/60 Adler!

I will not put that puzzle to the solved section, because there is one more point waiting for the one who can identify the driver, who is known in motoring history.

Hereīs the undisguised puzzle photo:

No, that one (scanned from a book...:) )

It only features those aluminium wheel covers, that proect the wire wheels from visible dust and save you much detail cleaning work:
