« on: February 16, 2013, 01:34:33 AM »
Near optimum: driving a classic roadster in sunny weather.

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

I have seen this car in Bolzano, some years ago. I asked about it to the driver, but he spoke only German...so the only think I understood is that it's based on Bmw 315, no other information. So, don't lock for me.

It is based on a BMW 315 (in fact a 315/1) and it is German.

Nice car. It looks quite new, is it a recreation of a mid thirties BMW 315/1 ?

It is a recreation of a BMW 315/1 based special from the 1930s. For awarding the point, I need the name of the builder.

When looking for 'BMW 315 Sonderkarosserie' and 'Sonderbau' (luckily Dutch people speak German as well...) I found the puzzle car. It is pictured in the ADAC Bavaria Historic Rallye in 2012 and I assume the drivers Schaffler/Dausinger are responsible for the bodywork. The base car is from 1934.

Yes, Mr. Schaffler tried to recreate a BMW 315/1 special which was built by his father in the 1930s and didn't survive, except for some photographs. He did quite a good job I think. The rear end looked a bit more streamlined in the old photographs though.
