You're right Bill, this car is a 1925 Doble E series, but I think what mekubb is looking for is a: 1925 Doble E-22 Delux Runabout which was once owned by Howard Hughes.

Interesting...........

I found eventually several photos of the car, all fairly recent, it has either been restored or very well kept.  Either I did not read far enough or they didn't mention that it was an ex Howard Hughes car.  I thought the fact that it is a "steamer" was the unusual fact.

Oh Well..............

Indeed it is

You're right Bill, this car is a 1925 Doble E series, but I think what mekubb is looking for is a: 1925 Doble E-22 Delux Runabout which was once owned by Howard Hughes.
And Howard Hughes was indeed the name I was looking for. But what to do with the points ? Bill found the right car and 4Popoid the rest of the information. Because it is a nice sunny day in Holland and I'm enjoying a good glass of Italian wine, you both get a point !

May I offer you a great big "Thank You!!" mekubb.

Trying to find something I could actually answer with confidence and maybe win a point once in a while is becoming a rarer occurance lately.

It is now 33 minutes from my self imposed first drink time of 1600 hours and I will then join you although I will be drinking a very nice California Chardonnay.

Thanks again for your generosity.
