Whatever it is, it should not be proceeding at the speed that this photo implied. Unless, of course, self-preservation is no longer a consideration.

this seems to be a video screen shot.  But it has an official topspeed of 100-110 km/h...

"Bo" is the swedish word for "to live", living at home is "bo hemma" in swedish. As the Saabo had Saab 95 underpinnings the name explaines itself. "Biltjänst" means "car service" and "Husbilen" means "house car" or "mobile home". The Saabo had some grill parts from Volvo 121 (it was called Volvo Amazon in the swedish market) and from Saab (center part). Interesting story, I have have never heard of this one.

(Translation from swedish? Yes, I can speak/read/write swedish, danish, norwegian and english.)

 :)

That is my own sweet Saab 95 mobile home! It was made by a one man workshop "Biltjänst" in Ramsele in Sweden 1965. It had a three cylinder Saab engine and is of course front wheel driven, but since the 1970´s by a Saab (Ford) V4 engine. I have had it for a couple of years, I´m the third owner. It is the second prototype built by Mr Torsten Johannesson. The first was made out of a scrapped Saab 92 (two cylinder 28 hp!). But that one did not get road legal - and ended up as a cabin in a forrest.

Both prototypes are still alive and kicking (after a lot of work)! I have posted a full story with pictures a couple of weeks ago för the features section.

Best Regards

Very good!  That was an easy point for you then!

Would you post a link from here to your feature on these campers please?  I haven't been able to find it yet..

The point for this also makes you an Expert now, for which congratulations!
But it means you can't answer Rookie puzzles any more, I'm afraid, though it does mean you can post your own puzzles now!

I have seen this here befor, it was named Saabo:

http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=2070.msg16385#msg16385

You're right - it is the same van, which was originally green then later red.  I can't see any mention of the name 'Saabo' though.  What it does say is that Torsten Johansson (sic) made two different ones, the 95H and the 95HK, which is the puzzle car.

Since it's the same vehicle it should technically be merged, but the heading for my puzzle is completely different from that of the original, so since it looks a bit different in its latest guise I suggest keeping it on its own, unless anyone objects?

The actual name is "Biltjänst Husbilen" (or "camper"), per this brochure made by the builder. Saabo seems to be a generic moniker for a Saab camper, including caravan trailers Saab built and sold.

"Biltjänst Husbilen" #1 and #2 can be seen together in the second photo.

At least two other people found it posted with the name Saabo - the poster of the original puzzle, and the person who found the solution. A quick search of Google this morning finds it still.  ;)

Since the red pic is no more than the restored version of the green camper, I've merged them.
