Pussycar, by Jean-Pierre Ponthieu.
Another french voiturette, but one of the first 50cc "sans permis" ever made. It was built mainly for advertisement purpose, as it was the job of Mr Ponthieu.
It used the usual 47,6 cc Sachs with two-speed centrifugal gearbox driving one rear wheel, and had a GRP bodywork. It was first launched in 1966, and the mechanical layout was made with the help of Marcel Tamine of Ardex !
At first, Jean-Pierre Ponthieu did try to sell it, with a lot of different body styles, but it came to nothing, as it was too costly. The Pussycars were mostly recycled as rolling advertisement, which became the main business of Jean-Pierre Ponthieu. With his company, SESAP, he created countless weird advertising cars. It seems more than 200 Pussycars were made, but just a few have survived today.
