Alfa, yes (the easy bit..), but not by Ghia.
Will have to check the date myself!

Edit:  1962 is not correct.

It's a Vignale Alfa 2000, yes, designed by Giovanni Michelotti.
But I need the correct year (not 1960 despite what it says on some websites).
There were variations of the same theme so you need to get the right one.
Since there are (at least) 2 of you let's see who gets the right one first (tell me where it first appeared and that will identify it definitively).

I give up - It was apparently bought by an American named Anthony Wilson, having been commissioned in March 1960, and completed in September 1960 in time to be shown at the World Auto Show in Turin.

It is presently owned by a Delmas Greene in Florida. Chassis  # AR102.02.0019.

I have it as 1958...
(edit - but this Vignale model, not this specific car...)

I have now found that Alfa AR102.02.0019 was specially made for the 1958 Turin Auto Show and painted to represent the Italian flag.
Around 50 of these cars were made, mostly by Vignale.

No, the car shown in Turin in 1958 was the one below; this is a different one.
As far as I know both cars are pure one-offs.

Again, the '58 car is the one I've shown.  I didn't know more than 1 was made..
But the puzzle car is a different car (note the many detail differences) and its owner insists it's the only one!

I know that's what it says on a site featuring this car, but the information is wrong, not entirely unusual on the interweb...!

The information about this cars is very confusing nobody seems to agree, around 47 seem to have been made and none are exactly the same, the puzzle car is chassis AR 102.02.0019, it was painted the colours of the Italian flag, green with white roof and red interior and according to certain sources it was presented at the 1959 Geneva Motor Show.
Then the car is a 1959 Alfa Romeo 2000S with body by Vignale designed by Gianni Michelotti.

On the website of the Florida Alfa Club, where the present owner Delmas Greene is apparently a member, the car is referred to as a 1960 Alfa 2000 Vignale. I assume this information comes directly from the owner himself and that he has the right papers......

So I would like to hear why the year is doubted....

I agree. Many references on the web say the same thing, including the Alfa Bulletin Board. I suspect the answer may lie in the records of the Alfa Register, but I'm not a member and cannot obtain information.

My own account earlier may have been misinformation from the web - one site said that Mr. Wilson commissioned the car, but I suspect that he bought it after seeing it at the Turin Show. It's all very intriguing......

That is what I was looking for as I took this to be the 1959 Geneva Show car (pictured at the show below).

But in fact since the Owner claims different he might be right, and it might be a 1960 version of the Show car, which would answer mekubb's question!  Maybe the photo of the silver car is the actual 1959 Show Car, which that Swiss owner claims is unique..

The truth will out no doubt..
