Lööks like a strong chassis to me.

For one point, please respond and identify the vehicle and its technical base.

I have not found a bare chassis view yet, but looking at shots of the interior, it looks very much like a British Ferret armoured car chassis.

It is the chassis of a military armoured car, but it is not British.

Back to the drawing board.................

The design of the road wheels and the style of the tyres indicate British or Commonwealth origin but that has been ruled out and as well the vehicle appears to be left hand drive.

While this is not typical of American designs (the reverse steering wheel), is it an American origin vehicle??

Reaching even further, then.

Landsverk/Unimog based on the Unimog S-404 chassis.
Might be called a 405 SH.
Cheers

Spot on! Built in Sweden, using a German chassis, originally intended for the police force in the Belgian Congo, finally sold to the Irish Army. On the second picture below you can see the uniquely tilted steering wheel.

Thank you for the point, my friend.

I had exhausted just about every source I could think of and was about to give up when I stumbled on the Landsverk/Unimog vehicle and the wheels and tyres and general size were very close.

Interesting that your last photo showed the steering wheel to be centrally located whereas in the original quiz photo it looked to be sitting more towards the left side of the vehicle.

Anyway, another one done.

Bill

The vehicle still exists and is on view at the National Transport Museum in Howth, near Dublin.
