Solved: Wendax 869 - Standard Merkur
« on: April 13, 2013, 01:33:09 AM »
A light truck with the looks of a car. The recipe still works.

For one point, please respond and identify this truck.

I think it's the Standard Merkur, about 1939.

I think you're right Fabrizio, although it might have been marketed as a Gutbrod Merkur, and might be a year, or two, older.

I think Gutbrod bought this project after Standard stopped its production. I'm not sure about the year, but I suppose that Standard in 1937 built only the three wheeler version, while this "firerader" version was introduced in 38 or 39.

It is a Standard Merkur. The year should be around 1935, as this light truck was built from 1934 to 1937. The prewar vehicles were all Standards, while the postwar ones were Gutbrods (with the exception of some cars called Moto-Standard, mainly for export I think).

One more point for targhediferro.
