Looks to me like a Faun Zugmaschine.
The style dated from the late 1930's to about 1949 I think and given that it has the brightwork "exposed" I would say maybe 1947-1949.

It is a Faun Zugmaschine. You have given the correct timespan, but it is not from 1947 to 1949. We could go on with locking this puzzle for you to give another try for the year, but I think we can do the shortcut as it is from the late 30s. I'll post the original picture tonight. I really like the sedan look of the coachwork. I'm not sure which exact Faun model this one is as there were several tractors in production in those years.

Hi Gerd:

Unless you know the answer already, it would be interesting to pursue this one to the end.

I am thinking that the truck was intended to tow something "special" or in "special" events.
I have in books etc. and in my docs files many photos of Faun zugmaschines over the years and none have this sedan/lux sort of cab.

Based on the lettering on the side of the cabin, which is illegible to my eyes, it looks like the first word might be "Gebruder" but I cannot make out the second word or the rest of the writing.  Also of note is the placement of two flags with some sort of crest on the width markers and that same crest is repeated under the cabin writing.  Maybe a Circus vehicle, maybe a special vehicle for parades, I just don't know but for some reason I would like to find out.  It also looks perhaps like a Faun advertising piece which may help.

Let me know if you have the answer or maybe some tips to go further.

Unfortunately I don't have an answer. I agree with you on the special character of this Faun. I haven't seen any other like it before. The lettering is illegible to me, too. The first line surely is "Gebrüder" (brothers) followed by a name like Prückner or Drücker or so. I can't read the other two lines either, perhaps the last word ends with "...transport". I only found this photo of that promotional postcard online without further information.
