Not Blankevoort, and it didn't just use the Lancia engine

Was it raced as well as being used on the road?

As far as I know no known professional coachbuilder was involved. It is homebuilt.

As is often the case I came across this car whilst researching for something quite different.

It's called the Arila Special and is based on a Lancia Appia. The car was completed in 1962 by Arie van der Hoeve.
The car's exterior exhaust appears to have been re-routed underneath.

I don't know too many things about this racing special. Therefore I offer a point for the donor (make, model, year) and an extra point if you can tell me who built it - with proof

Is this the Arila Appia Special which was at "post war classics" which was quoted incorrectly perhaps as 1962?

Richard, you are only millimeters away from getting two points. Tell me its builder and you get two points. It is very easy now. Still locked for you

Richard, I am very happy to award you two points. I only knew this as a 1957 Lancia Appia special, so your added information is very much appreciated. But you may be right and the donor may have been built in 1962 after all
