Aren't these 2 different motors?  Look at the magneto on both images...the flywheel, too.  They sure look like 2 different (although similar) motors.

I stumbled across the solution when looking something completely different. Those two engines were built by Alessandro Anzani. The pictured car has been seen here before: http://www.autopuzzles.com/forum/index.php?topic=6049.0

That would have made the Vintage Frazer Nash go rather better than it did with the side-valve (British) Anzani engine they fitted!
Any idea what power they produced?
