Edsel Ford had some difficulty getting his father interested in his proposal for a new mid-range model.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

I believe 2 M-B wagons were used as the base, yes!
Here's a rear view, which shouldn't help much...

Googling "Texas Parade Car" I came up with the following.  I should say first that I imagined it had to come from Texas..........

A vehicle made up from two Mercedes wagons, it is 79' long and weighs 7,500 lbs.
It has 3 axles and 8 wheels, one source says 4 wheel steering and parts from over 40 cars and other odd bits from here and there.

The builder is Antti Rahko, who emigrated to Florida (Not Texas in spite of his cowboy like attire) from Finland some years ago.  It has been entered in a number of Parade Competitions and has won every time.

Edit:  I should mention that it is apparently called "The Finn Jet".

That's it, Bill.
I guess the guy is pretty proud of it, too.  Well, each to his own...!
So, moving it straight to the Pro's didn't give a Pro a point after all.  Perhaps they were too ashamed of knowing the answer to post it!

I recognised that he used 1961 Chrysler Imperial Fenders and headlights on it.

He was ahead of his time, mating Chrysler and Mercedes Benz parts

Yes, the Chrysler front jumped out at me too!
In the article where I found the picture it was in fact headed 'Mercedes and Chrysler back together again'!
