Both cars have been on Autopuzzles before, but I would like to know the year of the race and where it took place

One of the many airfield circuits used in Britain in the 1950s.  By their very nature, airfields are featureless and this one is more so than some.

So, is this Charterhall in 1953?

Not Charterhall but it is indeed an airfield circuit and yes, 1953 is correct ! Identifying the cars will certainly help  ;)

found it.
race 14 november 1953 on airfield Welschap near Eindhoven. BMW up front with van Dieten then the Cidoro with van Ouden. They ended 1st and 2nd in their class.
