Hi TGF/Zerk:
I was sort of waiting to see if someone would immediately identify this one or if it is going to be a long puzzle.
In my case, I already have two hours invested.
Just to put my thoughts here for possible help to anyone else, this is what I have come up with so far.
To begin, it seems to be a very crude attempt to copy a 1947 Oldsmobile woody station wagon. I am posting a photo of such a car here. As it happens, my dad owned one of these 1947-1950 and I really wish I could afford to buy another one and restore it, a beautiful car to be sure.
In any case, French, Italian and German coachbuilders built sort of replica bodies of the American style in the 1940's and 1950's and perhaps other countries did the same. Lots of research did not turn up anything yet. As a side note, Oldsmobile did not make a two door wagon in that year.
Another thing that strikes me is that the wheels seem to me to be of the type normally found on a light commercial vehicle, not a passenger car. The tyres are also quite narrow, indicating perhaps the basic vehicle was not all that large.
That is as far as I have gotten, might help someone else.
Bill
