ford anglia van prototype?

Yes!
It must have been the windscreen that gave the game away, as I didn't think the rest of it looked much like the eventual production model..

Wheel arches and side windows gave the game away in my opinion..but I have a soft spot for Anglias as I had three in the past.

Splitting hairs, although based on an Anglia I think that being a commercial vehicle it would have been badged as a Ford Thames

More pics plus one of the production version.
Oddly enough I don't think the Anglia van was badged as a Thames.

I found a site that features period advertisments.  Some call the production 307E a "Ford Thames 5cwt van" while others call it a "Ford Anglia van".  So possibly both names were used depending on the market

Never really was an "Anglebox" van fan, but it's front and rear bumpers went on to lead much better lives thanks to the late Ron Hickman! ;D

What was the donor for the Elan +2's windscreen?  If I remember correctly it was something very mundane.

The Elan +2 windscreen was sourced from the 1961-64 Ford Consul Capri.
