I can see where you're coming from with the Ausca guess, but not as far as I know is the answer. There is an MG connection, though.

Correct. One point for you.

I have to admit, my investigation into this car has borne no fruit. I tried to find out who bodied it, and when, to no avail, but I believe the work could have been carried out in the US. The chassis will date from 1950, but not the bodywork - it is claimed to be the only Lester with fully - enveloping bodywork.
