I found a couple of Austro Fiats with those wheels so how about:

1929 Austro-Fiat 1001

It could be an Austro-Fiat, but it has already been establish that it is "a little older than 1927".  According to Wikipedia, Österreichische Automobil-Fabrik, previously known as Österreichische Austro-Fiat, began production of their own cars in 1925 when the Fiat license expired.  I think the puzzle car could be an early OAF, and, although I don't have a model number, I will try an OAF Pullman Limousine from about 1925/1926.

It was probably my mind - somehow it remembered this picture I published on my KTUD site 17 years ago. It's a Ralf-Stetysz shown at the 1929 Monte Carlo Rally.

Right, a Ralf-Stetysz. I have it from 1926, but it is possible that took part in '29 Monte Carlo Rally. Another point for you.

I suppose it is a model TC 12/42, with a 6 cylinder, 2760 cc engine.
