One well earned point for João!

Another point is available for coming up with the name of the Brevet

guido66

'To be honest I don't know. All I have is the name on the sign. So far I haven't been able to find any information on this Brevet online

guido66

I've done a bit of genealogical research on the name, and it very unlikely to be French.

Judging by the spacing of the print on the sign, it must be a very short name. Three or four letters?

guido66

No, it is a well known name of a totally unrelated present day German company. This company is present in pretty much all of Europe, but not in the country where the name is a family name.

guido66

No, and it's time for me reveal the unmodified picture. Rereading all the posts I suddenly realised that the name of the Brevet is short for Albert D'Ieteren  :-[

The name displayed is ALDI. They probably wanted to disguise the Belgian Brevet, and make it sound Italian!

I'm sorry for the confusion and I'll donate an extra point to João as he was right all along!

Not so difficult to identify maker and model...but I want to know the coachbuilder too.

You're right, the make and model are not so difficult.  It is an Alfa Romeo RL from about 1923.  Fortunately, I've seen that picture before, although I can't find it now that I need it.  As I recall, the picture was from a Dutch auto show, and the coachbuilder was Dutch.  I believe it was Schutter & van Bakel.

Nothing to add. Tomorrow I'll post the original picture. A point for you.
