Well, there was a Pop 2CV, there was a Yacco 2CV, and there were several cross 2CV around, but this is not a Yacco Pop Cross Citroen 2CV race conversion, sorry...

I have seen it described as being a 2CV modified for the Pike's Peak race, but haven't found any other details.
I do recall seeing this in a magazine during the 1980's or 1990's.

All the engine pipes are fake, so I´m quite sure I can trust my contemporary source.
To my best knowledge I still have to say: it not a Pikes peak car

I have it in a book about the 2 CV, but without a mention who made it.
I guess it is a German conversion?

Yes, it´s german.
The conversion was not meant too seriously.
It was more a kind of a fun project for a known person.

I've found it as Citroen 2CV powered Chevrolet at Santa Pod World Finals 1983

Wow, this gets even more interesting.
Still I´m quite sure that all those Pikes Peak and Santa Pod stories are just pure imagination...
It was only a kind of a show car with a standard engine.
Who has ordered it?

So, you´ve solved it!
It is indeed a project of the famous german car photographer Rainer Schlegelmilch!
This special 2CV was planned and built just to serve as a crazy photo object.
The plan was to do some nice photos and sell them as posters.
So it was all just show with a pimped old scrap 2CV.
I love all the speculations about this car...
Her´s the story in german.:
